In the words of Sarkodie, this quote goes out to all my honies on the block. And to those who have already moved out of the block. I knew from the start of the week that it’d be emotional (I hope my references to music so far capture this). My mother just asked me if I’ll be able to stay without you guys and I was like yeah. But quite frankly I don’t know how. I mean for the next year I should be fine. I’m not on my own yet (shout out to you two). But heck, let tomorrow worry about itself. Today has too many of its own.

Four years ago “life began” in the all senses of the phrase. Two years ago “life stepped up its game”. Today it’s doing some skills. 

AmaRae, you dey kai that time? Well, they’re been uncountable so it’ll be almost impossible to answer that. But you definitely remember when you tried to leave for UWC Costa Rica. I didn’t want to interfere with your decision but I hope you could hear the voices in my head saying “no, no, don’t go”. My friend! You’re a shark. That explains you going off to MIT. You’re a phenomenal, wonderful, amazing, beautiful, intelligent, kind-hearted, awesome, dependable, remarkable person. And like I said before UWC, there’s Skype. But the distance. And the time-zones. So yeah, Rachel you dey kai that time when… (insert it all here). If wishes were horses… (insert it all here).

You remember the card you got George when she was leaving for Switzerland? Yeah. This one you for kai. It said something like “saying goodbye is like an old pair of socks. It sure stinks”. I’d cry if I could but I don’t know how to. What I know for sure is that I really love you and I’m extremely grateful. See how you’ve made me speak pidgin.

Gavor. For you I can’t cross certain borders or else someone will kill me. I won’t want to joke with someone who knows where I sleep. But don’t be crying by heart because your homesick (by homesick I’m sure you know who I’m referring to). My call never really came. But there’s Skype. Sorry, I forgot. Call busy. At least there’s a say hi to Michael for me. That’s fine with me. I love you paa (Now I’ll have to sleep with one eye open for the next 4 years). Yeah, uh huh!

And same with all my other friends who have already left or are leaving this week and the next. God bless!
